While this very well with a few alcoholics Although there may be binge drinking alcohol, can go days, weeks or even months with nothing to drink. However, if you go on a drinking binge Bender, his life spirals out of control for the duration of the Spree.

There areknown as "drinkers" who consume more alcohol than usual, but this does not necessarily mean that they are alcoholics. There is also a myth that those who are alcohol may only through the community of recovering alcoholics anonymous. The fact is that not all alcoholics have found necessary for AA to go to heal.

We return to the original question: "What is an alcoholic?" Here are some of the most common features of a serious Alchi. Unlike heavy drinkers, can often well-balanced people who just happened to drink too much alcohol is in fact a different animal. Most active alcoholics are often seasoned with him. This is someone who is a selfish, self-loathing self-seeking egotist with an inferiority complex. If this description seems a little upset that, because it is! The alcoholic is someone who feels as victims and often at odds with the world. They are usually much more than a balanced opinion and logic removed morepeople who are well regulated.

Alcoholics also suffer much from resentment and tend to blame their misfortunes on other people to be responsible. To summarize the above, is a typical alcoholic an unstable person. However, and returned from their illness, if they are to manage their problem and put a cork in the jug. Alternative to AA for recovery of Alcoholics

This is a kind of misunderstanding suggests that, given the AA is the only way for alcoholics or heavy drinkers, is about his addiction to alcohol. AA, although it has undoubtedly helped millions of drunks sober, became over the years, has many, many others have failed. AA degree can be a pretty bad for some people, the alternatives are, whyset to AA in that, each with their own stories of success. Some of the more popular options:

There are also many other great books and publications, some old, some new, that are finding an increasing number of alcoholics and borderline alcoholic, a great help to achieve sobriety.

Why some alcoholics can not count on AA

One of the mainAA does not try for many reasons, from their dependence on alcohol is more work from AA to the religious base. This is a program that drunks, they are useless, worthless person who is short, but no chance of recovery if their will and told her life to the care of God 'almost impossible to read a paragraph of AA approved literature, and not a reference to God is doing, somewhere. This sacred rhetoric is trying a crossroads for manyHow to get control over their lives sober. Probably goes against the grain of atheists or agnostics.

Start AA Many believe that those who do not adhere to their community and condemning the practice of their 12-step program of recovery to a life of suffering and premature death, unless they agree to life-AA. While this is true in some cases, is the fact that many of the rest in other programs or go on their own, especially in middle-aged and elderly in reality. The ideais either AA-or-nothing "is both naive and obsolete. AA 1930 must be changed if it is their program for the appeal with the next generation of drunks.

The unity of Alcoholics Anonymous

March 23, 2010 · Posted in Christian Drug Rehab Articles · Comment

During my journey of recovery in Alcoholics Anonymous, have, wonder come to me in abundance. The promises are amazing in all areas of my daily life materialized and the rewards of sobriety are beyond what my imagination could have ever imagined or visualized. I lived in a miraculous way possible in my life with a passion for my career, my family, my friends, and humanity as a whole. Recovery should be afforded me the opportunity to discover my true self, thewas hidden from alcoholism, and happiness and enlightenment of every moment that I am there. I can not and do not expect anything in return, I can accept others for this, I can love and be loved and, above all, I need to get a drink, put all the challenges that the universe places along in my body everyday . Alcoholics Anonymous has filled me with a life of abundance, with honesty, love, acceptance, and passion.

As you can senseNow, I am with gratitude and appreciation to all these gifts, which filled my fate, but is an attribute of AA, which dominates the vast majority of all the others. This property provides a basis for personal development and general and this part of AA, of which I speak is the unity and harmony, the program offers me and other interested individuals. AA offers a trial of non-acceptance, equality, unconditional love and peaceconsists of a unique population and diverse groups of people. AA family non-discriminatory and does not apply, intolerance and exclusivity, the institutions of our society all too well. We welcome all with open arms and compassion if we are white or blacks, Christians or Buddhists, rich or poor, young or old, as well as other prejudices that afflict the world. AA is a microcosm of what would seem an ideal world and peaceful. This is a model based humanity and innovativeThe company, the ability to alter the course of human life. Our world can benefit from the example of Alcoholics Anonymous.

My revelation of this incredible gift, the AA has to offer, came when I recently completed a job as a therapist in the Cayman Islands. (Yes, took me to heaven recovery), I landed on this small island to know and nobody knows little about the culture. The only thing I know is that this is my way to a successful life, and I wascome here for other people. It 'been a terrible experience until I went to a meeting of AA. I went into the meeting and immediately felt like a home, I was one, and I was right where I wanted to be, at this point in time. This small church on the waterfront was my sanctuary that I have the gift of meeting a diverse group of individuals who would help me stay sober one day at a time. Really touched me and gives me hope and gratitude, knowingI can go anywhere in the world and embraced my family happy to AA.

These important features of AA hold me back, the atmosphere gives me a model of the world that I live inside I always wanted to hope to take the societies and cultures around the world are some useful tips from the philosophy of AA and start a new trend mankind. Alcoholics Anonymous and I thank all the warm, accepting and enlightenedThe souls who are working a recovery program on a daily basis.

There is only one prerequisite for participation in meetings and you want to drink: The desire to quit smoking.

When I first saw at a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous, I thought that was a member of a club of any type I was preparedOnce over the entrance of the committee or meeting of some privilege or screening. Any. Just go to visit, easy. You will be surrounded by people of all walks of life, the actions of a relative in a single, alcoholism. As with anything new, there are some 'of embarrassment or discomfort, is about the first session. With sensitivity and care, I said 'Get Over It "just go. It 'really that important to a successful recovery. If you are involved in every stage in 12 groups to know, do not be shy to call and ask if you can go with them.

If you do not know where to find information call and ask to AA. In most cities and counties receive an international hotline to provide information group session. You can also on your computer and Google search: "meetings of AA (home) state," You will be surprised by the number of meetings in your areaYou do not know.

I recommend you join and start sharing in the meetings and develop a program, not to try to learn through observation of the row or opposition outside. And 'one of those things that you need until the cows come home, but a study at some point, you take action. A thought is just a thought, a feeling, just a feeling, but nothing happens until you take action.

Bonus Tip: And to start the ball rolling, if youI'm new, if the operator asks if there are any new arrivals, who raises his hand and say your name and "I'm new and could use some help." That's it. The Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous

February 19, 2010 · Posted in Christian Drug Rehab Articles · Comment

The famous "12 Steps" of Alcoholics Anonymous "(often simply as" AA ") have obtained the solution for untold thousands of people control over their desire for alcohol, and have found healing in their lives.

The onset of AA, and what their methods of separation from the type of treatment is practiced in many hospitals, is the idea that alcoholism is a disease in a personality. People become addicted because they have addictive personalities. In order to cure alcoholism, requires a very different approach from what is given to an ordinary disease of the body.

The 12 steps of AA are a response to moral and spiritual personality. The steps are as follows:

1. We admitted we were weak with alcohol – that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. We came to believe that a Power greater than us introduce ourselves again, you could restore us to sanity.

3. We decided to turn our will and our livesthe care of God as we understand it.

4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

5. We confess to God, to ourselves and to another human being, the nature of our explicit.

6. Were entirely ready to have God clear to all these defects of character.

7. We humbly call to remove our shortcomings.

8. We made a list of all persons we had burned, and became willing to do everything.

9. We have everything right again, these peoplewherever possible, except when you had to do damage to themselves or others.

10. we sat at our inventory and if we were wrong promptly.

11. We seek through prayer and meditation to improve conscious contact with God as we understood him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and for the capacity.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the completion of these steps, we try to carry this message to alcoholics, and those principles in practiceall our affairs.

(Alcoholics Anonymous, New York, 1955)

The birth of the 12 steps are clearly Christian in nature, following the model of the basic gospel of sin, confession, forgiveness and restoration. As in Christian theology the sinner always a sinner. No alcohol is never "cured" of alcoholism. They act as alcoholics there until his death. The objective is achieved through the 12 simple steps for a non-potable wateralcoholic '.

AA has long since lost contact with his evangelical Christians. In fact, many groups tend to AA consiously away from the church. One can only assume that this is because of the unfortunate history of judgementalism and neglect that seems to many alcoholic through the Christian communities.

As mentioned earlier, not all alcohol treatment programs approved by the 12 stages. Some in the medical community believe that a spiritual approach toRefuse treatment, while giving others more spiritual rehabilitation programs, one or two steps, such as the idea that alcoholics can not be cured of alcoholism.

However, it is tempting to say "one million of non-drinking alcoholics can not be wrong." The millions of people have found healing and hope through the 12 steps, certainly testifies to its importance.
